Hail King
The work is dominated by the image of the suffering Jesus who is wrapped in a purple robe with his hands tied and a crown of thorns on his head. In order to emphasize the intense, passionate emotion of this religious work, His form is projected in an unnatural and empty space without a background. Drops of blood, a detail of intense realism, roll and engrave His face. The pain crescendo is mitigated by the plasticity of the naked body, as it is illuminated from the side. The interaction of light and shadow intensifies the sense of depth by promoting the position of Jesus to the viewer. Our work conveys feelings of compassion for someone with whom we must identify.
