    Alexander the Great and the Macedonian Companion Cavarly (Hetairoi).

    Companion were the select heavy cavalry of the Macedonian army and gained their great fame with the military campaigns of Alexander the Great. Their contribution was decisive in most battles in Asia as they used only the best horses, and were provided with the best weapons available. Alexander the Great, personally led the attack on the head of the Royal Companion Cavarly.
